The Business Case...

It goes without saying that sexual harassment in any area of life should not be tolerated, but from October 2024, employers will need to comply with a new responsibility to take ‘reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment of employees. This follows the passing of the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023.

Now more than ever, the UK is taking a stand against sexual harassment, and with this comes the opportunity for your organisation to emphasize its commitment to zero tolerance.

All employers have the responsibility to take ‘reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment. Not doing so could have costly consequences, as well as being damaging to the company’s reputation and culture.

But a combination of reviewing harassment policies and reporting procedures, conducting effective training sessions with employees, taking any harassment complaints seriously, and regular workplace reviews, will demonstrate an organisations’ proactive response to this responsibility.

It was an insightful, honest, impactful and powerful session. A safe space was created where people felt able to interact and be open which is always powerful. The session was very reflective of what we see, and the drama was relevant and relatable
