NHBC – All Staff Conference
The Brief:
To bring recent changes to NHBC’s claims process to life at their all-colleague conference in a way that would be engaging and memorable. The aim was to ensure staff across the business understood and were on board with the new approach, while setting an energised, positive tone for the day.
The Solution:
Enact designed and delivered a 30-minute interactive, drama-based session using polling theatre, audience participation and carefully pitched comedy. Working in close partnership with NHBC’s Claims team, the scripts were developed to reflect real-world processes and relatable challenges, while still keeping the experience light and engaging.
On the day, professional actors and a facilitator combined humour, interactivity and authenticity to strike the right balance between getting the core messages across and keeping the audience engaged. Colleagues were invited to reflect, interact and laugh together, helping NHBC’s “putting homeowners first” message resonate.

Having seen Enact’s drama-based approach in action previously at NHBC, I knew that they would be the perfect fit. The team at Enact took the time to really understand our Claims team and their processes and what we wanted colleagues to take away from this conference session. Their research with the Claims team translated into spot-on scripts, needing hardly any changes, leaving us feeling confident and reassured that we were in good hands.
The acting team were friendly, professional and well-prepared, both in rehearsals and at the conference itself. Their sessions had colleagues interacting, reflecting and laughing too – exactly the energy we wanted for our event. The Enact performance struck the right balance of authenticity and humour, helping our ‘putting homeowners first’ message to resonate and be meaningful.
We’ve received such positive feedback on this drama-based session that I’m already considering ways in which we can work with the Enact team again in the future.

Laing O’Rourke – Challenging Sexual Harassment
Enact delivered ‘Challenging Sexual Harassment and Prevention’ training at a conference for 180 Senior Leaders to support the changes to legislation for the Worker Protection Act.
The session aligned with Laing O’Rourke’s commitment that it is everyone’s responsibility to bring about change, and that leaders have a duty to proactively take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment and support anyone experiencing it.
The powerful and interactive session explored:
- What does it look like?
- What must you do?
- What will you do to help one another?
At the end of the session, leaders were clear on:
- What they expect of each other
- Their first step – a commitment to action
- Where to go for more support
The session was designed to push delegates out of their ‘comfort’ zones, and question what they could do to create psychological safety, actively support someone experiencing sexual harassment and explore steps they are taking for prevention of sexual harassment in their organisation.

National Grid Electricity Distribution – Roadshow Conferences
The Brief:
To provide a powerful 45 Minute ‘key note’ at a series of Team Leader Roadshow Conferences, with audiences of 250 plus, focussed on creating a culture of belonging and how to challenge non-inclusive behaviours.
The Solution:
A drama-based scenario focussed on a believable complaint scenario was carefully scripted in partnership with nominated contacts from NGED. The goal was to create content that would resonate and show empathy for the challenges engineers might have in the field and around members of the public property.
The facilitator used electronic polling to allow delegates in a fun interactive environment to ‘choose their journey’ and change the poor practice enacted in the original scenario to create better outcomes for all involved. Through this highly interactive format and with skilled facilitation with roaming mics best practice was identified and explored.
