You’re Biased, Now What? London

Showcasing skills-based training on challenging bias and inappropriate behaviour

What’s it all about?

“We are all biased. We all have different biases. We need to recognise these facts and work with them.”

Binna Kandola, The Value of Difference (2009)

We’re excited to be able to tell you about this free opportunity to find out more about how the team here at Enact Solutions is helping organisations to both recognise the facts of human bias and take practical steps to counter it and build a more inclusive workplace.

In a 3 hour session, we’re showcasing a mix of our established, highly successful awareness raising work, alongside our new and exciting drama-based, experiential skills-based development work.

As ever, our focus is on making a real difference. This is a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand the impact of our approach.

A drama-based workshop (where you don’t have to act)

Our tried and tested approach utilises a dynamic blend of live drama with professional actors (they play roles, so delegates don’t have to), multimedia filmed resources, electronic voting systems (measuring success), and highly skilled facilitation. It’s a highly interactive, powerful way to explore behaviours and will be of interest to anyone within Human Resources or Learning & Development roles, whatever the sector.

Learning and development

This showcase ‘taster’ session provides an insight into how we work with delegates in our workshops to:

  • Increase awareness of unconscious bias and explore personal biases
  • Witness realistic models of poor behaviour in relevant and believable settings
  • Explore the consequences of bias, including lazy stereotyping, snap judgements and untested assumptions, for employees and external customers
  • Challenge biases within themselves and others
  • Identify individual possibilities to change for the better
  • Identify appropriate actions to create a more inclusive working environment

It’s free. But don’t hang about as places are limited and will be booked on a first come, first served basis. (Please note, due to demand and administration costs, there will be a £99 plus VAT charge for cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the event.)

The session takes place on 2 November 2015 at The Actors Centre, 1A Tower Street, London, WC2H 9NP. It will run from 9:30 to 12:30 (refreshments and registration from 9:15) in the John Curry Studio. It goes without saying, we’d be delighted to see you there.
