How to spot everyday sexism and have courageous conversations to challenge it
We’re going to be playing a leading part in an upcoming meeting of the East Midlands Equality and Diversity Forum hosted by Acas.
Along with colleagues from Energise, we’ll be bringing our stimulating mix of drama-based learning and engaging group activities to explore casual sexism scenarios in the workplace. This is topical following the recent Everyday Sexism feature in the CIPD People Management magazine, which highlighted complacency on gender equality even as Acas is reporting a rise in sex discrimination-related calls to its helpline.
Our contributions will come from Peter Allen, Managing Director, and Rosie Perkin, Creative Director, both hugely experienced training facilitators here at Enact Solutions, and they will be joined by a team of gifted professional actors. Together they’ll be presenting thought provoking experiential exercises designed to raise awareness and equip participants with ways to have those tricky conversations to challenge sexist ‘banter’ and more subtle biases in a positive assertive way.
